Clearing the block

I am terribly sorry for having been away from WAB for quite sometime now and I feel completely naked and hollow. But I have been also following closely the members’ writings here. I am suffering from serious mental block like the Phuentsholing-Thimphu Highway in the late 1990s. And the feeling that I can’t write a single complete paragraph is quite strange.

I think similar is the case with many other WAB members (sorry for the assumption made there). But we see less and less contributions by the day and even fewer comments. It is quite unlike in the past, but I am sure there is no reason to be alarmed. I can understand. By nature I am optimist or so I believe or claim to be one. And this makes me think that our members are simply waiting for a spark of an inspiration to return so that they would once again pick up their pens and start writing again.

And yo, before I forget, Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy is conducting another Creative non-Fiction Writing Workshop from July 19 – 22, 2011 at Thimphu. The organizers have kindly agreed to provide us with one free slot, which we have specifically asked for WAB members. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone.

Therefore, interested are requested to send in your names to nawang@writersofbhutan.com latest by July 9, 2011 10:00 AM so that we can make a final confirmation to the organizers.

In the meanwhile, let’s write and write and clear this ‘block’ and here is a hoping that we get to read scores of writings from you all once again.

  • I too feel I can’t write a sentence. Nice to know you feel the same though you are ahead of in terms of ‘paragraph’.
