Yangchen Gatshel Lower Secondary School is located high up in the untouched pristine mountaintop overlooking Thimphu town. Often times, teachers and the students have to be ready with full details of the map while telling people about this school for many are unaware of the presence of this seat of learning. Although well- draped in the veils of mountain clouds, this school is working its way towards giving its students the best of the Education in perfect stand with the other modern schools in any part of our country. Starting from 3rd- 8th of Sept, 2012 the school observed its Reading week. Co-inciding with the World Literacy day, the school celebrated the closing day of their Reading week. The day was special as three active members of WAB joined the school to further urge the students to take up reading as a hobby for life. Mr. Ngawang Phuntsho, Mr. Kinzang Tshering and Mr. Rikku Dhan Subba not only spread their charm in the MPH with their enlightening speeches; they donated one hundred and sixty books to the school library. The school shall remember this kind gesture of the WAB members and these books shall be the treasure chest which shall make the students of YGLSS rich with the wealth of knowledge.
